Philips Momentum 27M1C5500VL Gaming Monitor with 4000:1 contrast and 165Hz

With the Philips Momentum 27M1C5500VL, MMD is planning a new best 1440p monitor for gaming. The 27-inch QHD gaming monitor has a VA panel with WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels), a maximum refresh rate of 165 Hz, 1500 R curvature, and HDR10 support.

The QHD monitor has a contrast ratio of 4000:1, the color depth is 8 bits, the brightness is 250 cd/m², and the response time is 4 ms (grey to gray). The specs also mention 126.5 percent sRGB and a power consumption of 38.7 watts.

Adaptive Sync counteracts tearing in games, although we would guess FreeSync Premium. A mode against motion blur also seems to be on board. The range of interfaces includes two HDMI 2.0 inputs (WQHD at max. 144 Hz), a DisplayPort 1.4 (WQHD at max. 165 Hz), and a headphone output. You won’t find any USB ports.

There are also savings on the ergonomic side since you have to be satisfied with the tilt, VESA mount (100 x 100 mm), blue light filtering, and flicker-free backlight. The Philips 27M1C5500VL is mercury-free, weighs 4.18 kg without the stand, and measures 611 x 366 x 83 mm (W x H x D).
