Philips Momentum 279M1RV 4K Gaming Monitor with 144 Hz, HDMI 2.1 and Ambiglow

With the new 27 inch monitor Momentum 279M1RV, Philips has introduced a new gaming screen with 4K resolution, especially for the Xbox.

Philips is expanding its 27 inch monitor portfolio with the new Philips 279M1RV. The Philips monitor is specially designed for the Xbox Series X | S, but of course, can also be used on PlayStation or PV. It is aimed at all owners of one of the next-gen consoles who prefer to use an optimized gaming monitor for gaming instead of a TV.

Philips Momentum 279M1RV features a nano IPS panel with W-LED background lighting and has a 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160 pixels), and a pixel density of 163 PPI. The image update rate via HDMI is 144 Hz, via USB-C at 120 Hz. The response time (GtG and MPRT), which is also very important for gamers, is 1 ms each, AMD FreeSync Premium is on board.

Philips specifies the contrast ratio is 1,000: 1, and the brightness is 450 cd/m². For this purpose, the monitor has DisplayHDR 600 or DisplayHDR 400 certifications. The NTSC, sRGB, and Adobe RGB color spaces each cover more than 100 percent.

On the other hand, there is agreement again on the connectivity. Philips Momentum 279M1RV is each equipped with three HDMI 2.1, one DisplayPort 1.4, and one USB-C with DP switch mode and power delivery with 65 W.
