The Japanese company Panasonic has announced the new DLP laser 3D projector PT-FRQ50, which can achieve a refresh rate of up to 240 Hz with 1920×1080 pixels (Full HD). Alternatively, it is possible to display content via upscaling with 3840 x 2160 pixels (4K).
The light source can achieve a maximum of 5200 lumens and is said to have a lifespan of 20,000 to 24,000 hours, depending on the operating mode. With Full HD and 240 Hz, the input lag should only be 8 ms, which should make gamers happy. The contrast ratio is estimated at 20,000:1, and the projectable screen diagonal at 40 to 300 inches.
The range of interfaces includes, among other things, D-Sub 15, HDMI (with CEC), RJ-45, RS232C, USB, and a 3.5 mm jack. The Panasonic PT-FRQ50 weighs 16.5 kg and is designed for 24/7 operation.
The DLP projector will feature vertical and horizontal keystone correction, 480 watts of power consumption, and background noise of 28 dB (Quiet) and 35 dB (Normal/Eco).
