Panasonic Lumix GH5 II: With more Video functions and an optimized Stabilizer

With the Lumix GH5 II, Panasonic has announced an important further development of the GH5. The Panasonic GH5 II now allows unlimited 4K 60p video recordings with 4: 2: 0 10-bit, 4: 2: 2 10-bit video output via HDMI and wireless live streaming. The latest deep learning technology ensures safer and more precise autofocusing through improved subject recognition in real-time. According to Panasonic, anti-reflex coated 20-megapixel digital live MOS sensor, in conjunction with the improved Venus Engine image processing, results in fewer light reflections and more dynamic range. In addition, the improved touchscreen LCD monitor should be characterized by higher luminosity and stronger color rendering.

With the pre-installed V-Log L function, the color tone can be easily compared with recordings recorded in the V-Log of the S1H / S1 and V-Log L of the GH5 / GH5S.

The 20.3 megapixels digital live MOS sensor with AR coating (anti-reflective coating) ensures a greater dynamic range, clean reproduction of details and makes the best possible use of the lenses’ excellent performance. The image processor has also been updated to use the latest fast and powerful Venus engine version. A new live view composite function for dynamic long-term recordings will follow via a firmware update by the end of 2021.

The dual image stabilization in 5 axes for blur-free handheld shots has been further improved on the Panasonic GH5 II and now enables shots with shutter speeds that are 6.5 f-stops longer. By adopting the latest algorithm from the Lumix S1H, even video recordings remain calm and stable when the camera is moved.

The freely swiveling 3.0-inch LCD monitor with an aspect ratio of 3: 2 and a high resolution of 1.84 million pixels enables touchscreen operation. Compared to the GH5, the M2 monitor is characterized by a higher luminosity and better color rendering.

The Lumix GH5 II can stream wirelessly live via the easy-to-use Lumix Sync smartphone app. With a future firmware update, wired IP streaming (via USB tethering or RTP / RTSP Wired IP Streaming FWUP) will also be possible, thus streaming a stable, high-quality image with sound.

The robust housing of the Lumix GH5 II can withstand tough outdoor use. The full die-cast frame on the front and back consists of a magnesium alloy and the housing of the GH5 II is splash-proof, dust-proof, and frost-proof down to -10 degrees Celsius.

It is also equipped with Bluetooth 4.2 and both 5GHz (IEEE802.11ac and 2.4GHz (IEEE802.11b / g / n) Wi-Fi (5GHz Wi-Fi is not available in some countries). Most of the accessories for the Lumix GH5 such as the XLR1 microphone adapter, the RS2 remote control, and the BGGH5 battery grip can also be used with the GH5 II.
