With the GT4000UHD, Optoma is launching a new 4K ultra-short-throw gaming projector ideal for video games. It requires only a short distance between the projector and the projection surface and boasts high resolution and low input lag.
The GT4000UHD is a new Optoma 4K UST laser projector that can produce a large projection from a short distance to the wall. This eliminates the need for complicated ceiling mounting, and you can ideally place it on a sideboard. According to the manufacturer, a projection of between 100 and 150 inches is possible, with a throw ratio of 0.25:1. However, as with such ultra-short-throw projectors, a zoom function is often unavailable. You need just under 27 centimeters of distance for a 100-inch image.
The advertised resolution is 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, achievable only through pixel shifting. When the system delivers 1080p material at 240 Hz, it advertises an input lag of just 4.3 milliseconds. It displays 4K material at 60 Hz only after 16.9 milliseconds. Nevertheless, the model should be suitable for gaming without any limitations.
The 4K ultra short throw gaming projector features a laser system, a brightness of 4,000 lumens, and a lifespan of up to 30,000 hours. The device receives image content through two HDMI 2.0 ports (one with eARC). It also includes HDBaseT, RJ45, RS232, and a jack socket. There is also a connection for synchronizing 3D playback with appropriate glasses. A single speaker is also included.
