OnePlus has revealed the Nord CE 5G, its latest assault on the mid-range segment. The device offers much of what the regular Nord does, but at an even more affordable price. The OnePlus Nord CE 5G price starts from $555 for the International model for US users.
“CE” stands for the ‘Core Edition’, a cheaper alternative to the OnePlus Nord 5G. Unsurprisingly, the Core Edition is a stripped-down OnePlus Nord, although that does not make the Nord CE 5G a bad smartphone by any means.
The One Plus Nord CE 5G has a 6.43-inch AMOLED display that operates at up to 90 Hz, and 1080 x 2400 pixel resolution. A 4,500 mAh battery underpins the device, which can recharge at up to 30 W thanks to Warp Charge 30T. By contrast, the OnePlus Nord only has a 4,115 mAh battery, so the newer Nord CE 5G may have better battery life than its more expensive sibling.
Additionally, OnePlus has included Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 750G SoC, a step-down from the Snapdragon 765G in the OnePlus Nord. The Nord CE 5G also has four cameras, with three on its rear. OnePlus has disclosed that it has included a 16 MP selfie camera and a 64 MP primary camera with a 119° field of view (FoV).
The device weighs 170 g and is 7.9 mm thick. OnePlus has promised to provide two years’ worth of software updates and three years of security patch updates.
