OnePlus continues to hold a high interest in its next flagship, publishing a video teaser dedicated to the OnePlus 6x limited edition of the smartphone inspired by the movie Avengers: Infinity War. The video teaser mentions the variant will be called the OnePlus 6x Marvel Avengers Edition, and it’s not certain the ‘x’ will be retained in its name by launch. We’ve reached out for more clarity on this front.
The Avengers: Infinity War movie does not show many aspects of the device, but allows us to understand how the back cover will be made; the front is instead shown briefly in the following seconds.
New OnePlus 6x Marvel Avengers Limited Edition hinting at a 19:9 display and a unique textured back. OnePlus confirmed that it will feature design elements inspired from the movie. Much like the OnePlus 6 regular variant, the limited edition model will be an Amazon.in exclusive in the India.
OnePlus 6 is nearing an eventual unveiling as the Chinese phone maker gets set to launch its next flagship on May 16 in London and May 17 in India and China. However, the event tickets have been quickly sold out, as the company confirms with an official statement:
“Tickets for “The Speed You Need”, the OnePlus 6 launch event, ended in less than 10 hours. More than 1,000 tickets were sold in record time for the London event after sales had opened in the morning.”
As for specifications, the OnePlus 6 is confirmed to arrive with the latest flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of inbuilt storage. The smartphone will sport a notch, a bottom chin, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Apart from that, a glass back design suggests that the OnePlus 6 might come with wireless charging support.
Top flagship eagerly awaited by the OnePlus community, which welcomed the launch event very warmly. Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus, commented:
