Nokia 2 With 5.0-inch Display, 4100mAh Battery, 1GB RAM Announced

After the Nokia 7 announcement in China this month, HMD Global today on Tuesday announced the Nokia 2 smartphone in India. With this launch, the company has added the cheapest Nokia phone yet in its Nokia android phone portfolio.

Nokia 2 price is set at EUR 99 – approximately $115 / Rs. 7500 and comes in Pewter Black, Pewter White and Copper Black color options. New Nokia mobile will go on sale from mid-November globally.

Nokia 2 Specifications

New Nokia 2 features a 5.0-inch LTPS HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution display with LCD In-Cell Touch Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection layer on top of it. The device is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor that’s backed by Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 SoC paired with Adreno 304 GPU. New Nokia phone packs 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM, and 8GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable via microSD up to 128GB.

Nokia 2 has a 6000 series aluminum frame and a polycarbonate back. The device is also splash proof with IP52 ratings. The handset runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS with support for Google Assistant and the company has promised Android 8.0 Oreo update for the device.

For optics, this new Nokia Android phone bears an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED Flash and there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie and video calling. The device measures 143.5 x 71.3 x 9.30 mm and comes with dual SIM support with dedicated dual SIM slots and is also available in single SIM variant in some regions.

On the connectivity front, the Nokia 2 supports 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack, and FM Radio option. The device packs massive 4100mAh battery that promises up to 2 days of battery life on a single charge.
