With its robust aluminum alloy, the housing makes a compact impression, and the setting rings for aperture and focus are ergonomically optimally arranged. The manual focus is smooth and precise, and the aperture is continuously adjustable, which is particularly appreciated when recording videos. The aperture consists of 10 straight blades, which results in sun stars with ten rays as an attractive image effect in extreme backlit shots at all aperture values.

With 112 ° field of view for full format and 78 ° for APS-C, the lens is ideal for large overviews and interesting perspectives. Especially in landscape and architectural photography, a 15mm focal length is a valuable addition to normal wide-angle lenses and standard focal lengths. It is tempting to use different effect and graduated filters, which was taken into account when the Nisi lens was designed. The 72mm filter thread allows the use of screw filters, which is rather rare with such extreme wide-angle lenses, as well as (logically) the use of 100mm plug-in filters in combination with the NiSi filter holder.

Although the speed of 1:4.0 is not exactly great, it was able to keep the lens compact and optically correct up to the edge zones. With its small dimensions of 75.6 mm in diameter and 80.5 mm in length, as well as a weight of only 470 grams, the lens probably fits easily into the existing camera bag.
