Nintendo Switch so far Sold 4.70 Million Units

Nintendo has disclosed the financial results for the first quarter of the current fiscal year (1 April – 30 June) showing an increase in sales of 148.6% on an annual basis.

In hardware, from April 1 to June 30, a total of 1.97 million Nintendo Switch units was sold, means 4.70 million consoles shipped by June 30th, 2017 since launch. Nintendo 3DS has reached the global share of 67.08 million units, while Wii U completes its cycle with 13.57 million consoles.

On the hardware front, in the first quarter of the fiscal year, the software sold for Switch was 8.14 million and the success of The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (1.16 million copies, 3.92 million in total), Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (3.54 million) and ARMS (1.18 million).

The game that gained more success in terms of sales on Nintendo 3DS is Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, while the Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes for mobile devices are the two titles that generated more profit in the last quarter.

Forecasts for the coming months are undoubtedly positive, and Nintendo, by the end of the current fiscal year, intends to distribute 12.74 million Switches. This is a possible goal, considering the recent launch of Splatoon 2 and the next release of Super Mario Odyssey, the title we are certain will help drive the console sales.
