Nikon has finally unveiled its long-awaited full-frame Nikkor Z 85mm f1.8 S lens for its full-frame mirrorless system. The lens design consists of a total of 12 elements in 8 groups, including two ED elements, as well as Nikon Nano Crystal and Super Integrated coatings.
According to Nikon itself, the new portrait lens delivers unmatched edge-to-edge sharpness, even when shooting at the maximum aperture, enhanced video recording performance and natural bokeh that gently leads the viewer’s eye to the subject of the frame.
New Nikkor Z 85mm f1.8 S lens has a diaphragm with nine rounded blades, the minimum focusing distance is 0.8 m only and offers a maximum magnification of 0.12x. Stepping motor is responsible for the focusing movement. The new glass is equipped with a 67 mm thread for installing additional accessories, such as filters and hood. In addition, a customizable control ring for smooth adjustment of aperture or exposure compensation. The lens is protected from the elements by Nikon’s professional-grade dust and drip resistance.

The Nikon Nikkor Z 85mm f1.8 S lens is priced at $796.95, and already available for pre-order via Bhphotovideo and Amazon online stores. This lens will be released on September 5, 2019.
