Nikon Nikkor Z 40mm f2 wide angle lens

The Nikkor Z 40mm F2 is a compact and lightweight fixed focal length lens for the Nikon mirrorlrss digital camera with full-frame Z-System. The Nikon Z lens almost corresponds to the normal focal length for the 35mm format and therefore, is an alternative to a 50mm normal lens. On a camera with an image sensor in the APS-C or DX format like the Nikon Z fc or Z 50, the lens corresponds to a 60mm.

This handy lens is a reliable companion because it is light and small. The latter is also helpful for discreet recordings. In addition, it scores with both vlogs and lively snapshots with light intensity and sharpness.

The high-speed lens offers a natural angle of view that is ideal for expressive portraits, reports, interviews, and tutorial videos. Another advantage of its modest size: portrayed people often behave more relaxed if you don’t hold a huge lens in front of their face. In addition, the compact dimensions and low weight also take selfies in the form of photos and videos easier.

The large diameter of the Z mount and the high light intensity of 1: 2 ensure high performance in low light, so that twilight mood can also be captured perfectly. The aperture with nine rounded blades ensures a soft, natural-looking bokeh, with which photographers and filmmakers can stage their motifs against a silky soft background with a delicate blur.

Price and availability

The Nikkor Z 40mm f2 is now available to buy via the Adorama.com and Bhphotovieo.com online stores at a recommended retail price of $296.95.
