Nikkor Z 24-50mm F4-6.3 Zoom Lens with Compact Design announced

Along with the Nikon Z5 full frame camera, the Japanese manufacturer has also introduced the new NIKKOR Z 24-50mm F4-6.3 lens. It is the most compact and lightest zoom lens in its class on the market today. However, the compact design also comes at the expense of light intensity.

The compact design is made possible by retracting or extending the inner frame part by turning the zoom ring. This turns the camera with the lens into a compact unit that can be comfortably stored in a handbag and is often taken with you. The aperture control, exposure compensation or ISO setting is selected via the adaptive setting ring.

The focal length range from 24 mm wide-angle to 50 mm standard focal length enables a wide range of uses and enables the use of 52 mm filters. The constant focusing distance is 0.35m and can be used from a 24 to 50mm focal length. With ED glass and aspherical lenses, the distortion should be minimized over the entire zoom range.

NIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 lens will be available in August for $400. Later that month, the much-anticipated and long-delayed Nikkor Z 70-200mm F2.8 VR S will be available at $2599.
