Lenovo celebrates its ThinkPad’s 25th Anniversary, the notebook that has become a benchmark for business and professional users over the years, which has evolved greatly thanks to the public’s good feedback. The first ThinkPad 700C was introduced at Comdex in Las Vegas in 1992 which is obviously very different from the current models.
To celebrate its 25th anniversary of the ThinkPad lineup, Lenovo introduces ThinkPad Anniversary Edition 25 based on ThinkPad T470, comes with a modern design that includes some retro features such as the seven-row backlit keyboard, volume control buttons, and a multicolored logo.
Apart from these features, the new ThinkPad is a modern notebook in all its effects: it is powered by an Intel Core i7-7500U processor with dedicated NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics card and 14-inch Full HD display with touch support.
New ThinkPad Anniversary Edition 25 also comes with four different TrackPoint caps, including the one that comes pre-loaded on the device. Also present is a fingerprint reader that lets you log into Windows 10 with Windows Hello. For connectivity options include USB-C port (Thunderbolt 3), 3x USB ports, an SD card reader, HDMI port, and Ethernet connectivity.
Lenovo will only be sold this new ThinkPad in some selected markets and it’s in limited quantities, pricing starts from $1899.
