New QuietComfort Bose Noise Cancelling Earbuds and Sport Earbuds announced

With the new Bose Noise Cancelling Earbuds, Bose Audio wants to stir up the TWS market properly, because the new QuietComfort Earbuds should not only offer the “world’s most effective noise cancelling”, but also an incomparable top-quality sound. Meanwhile, with the Bose Sport Earbuds, there is also a model that is specifically aimed at athletes.

So far, traditional manufacturers of speakers and headphones have hardly been able to make waves in the highly competitive TWS market – this is still dominated by the Apple AirPods (Review) (from $129 on Amazon) and the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live (Review) (at $169 on Amazon). But now Bose is bringing its popular QuietComfort brand to the TWS front, the QuietComfort Earbuds are supposed to outperform their competitors in several ways.

On the one hand, the combination of active and passive noise cancellation should be more effective than with all competing models. In addition, the Bose headphone has a transparency mode that amplifies ambient noise, as well as the ability to regulate the strength of the ANC. The Bose Noise Cancelling Earbuds should also offer an incomparable high-quality sound, with a deep, powerful bass reproduction, regardless of the volume.

Playback can be controlled by a touch-sensitive surface on the outside of the earphones, playback is automatically paused when you take an earbud out of your ear. With an IPX4 certification, rain, snow or sweat should not be a problem for the earbuds. The battery lasts up to 6 hours, together with the charging case you get at least 18 hours, the charging case can be charged either via USB-C or via Qi. The connection is done via Bluetooth 5.1, but Bose only supports SBC and AAC, but neither Qualcomm aptX nor Sony LDAC.

Bose Sport Earbuds

On the other hand, the Bose Sport Earbuds look quite similar at first glance, but for a lower price you have to do without active noise suppression, the battery only lasts 5 instead of 6 hours. Apart from that, the technology in the datasheet looks practically identical to that of the more expensive model.

The Bose QuietComfort Noise Cancelling Earbuds can be purchased through the BestBuy.com website at a price of $279.

While the Bose Sport Earbuds cost $179 and it is also available to buy on the BestBuy.com e-shop.
