New Pentax K-1 II and Three Lenses in Silver Edition: Pre-order Price, and More

The Pentax K-1 Mark II Silver Edition DSLR Camera was developed as a limited-edition special model of the Pentax K-1 II especially for users who value not only high functionality but also the color and the design of their photographic equipment.

Pentax K-1 II DSLR Cameras

In addition to the silver-colored housing parts, the design of the camera has black elements (e.g. shutter release and hot shoe), so that the camera always goes well together in different color combinations with silver and black interchangeable lenses. As a special feature, all DSLR cameras have individual serial numbers from 0000001 to 0001000 to underline their exclusivity.

  • The technical equipment corresponds to the previous K-1 Mark II and is characterized by the following special features:
  • 36.4-megapixel sensor without a low-pass filter for high image sharpness – even in the sensitivity range up to ISO 819200
  • Image stabilization integrated into the housing – enables the use of 5-axis camera shake reduction with every lens
  • The AA filter simulator dispenses with the use of a low-pass filter in order to achieve greater sharpness
  • Pixel Shift Resolution II, for the entire resolution by using the RGB sensor for the entire color spectrum
  • Rotating and folding monitor with four special joints – designed for tough outdoor use
  • Intelligent real-time analysis exposure metering. The 86,000-pixel RGB sensor, in conjunction with the Pentax Prime IV image processor, measures brightness values, colors, and movements in order to determine optimal exposure values.
  • Stable shutter construction for a series of exposures at high speed. High accuracy when it comes to exposure and a stable shutter mechanism with more than 300,000 photos
  • Compact and stable housing – weatherproof and dustproof. 87 seals provide reliable protection against splashing water and dust even at -10° and humidity of up to 85%.
  • Built-in GPS module and Astrotracer function – not only enables precise location information on the images but also recordings of photo tours. With the Astrotracer, the camera compensates for the earth’s rotation through the sensor-shift and thus offers perfect astrophotography
  • The large dynamic range for high detail reproduction in dark and light parts of the picture.
Pentax K-1 II

The DSLR camera is supplied in a kit. In the exclusively designed product packaging, next to the housing, there is also a silver battery grip and two D-LI90 batteries. It is delivered with the current version of the firmware.

The Pentax K-1 Mark II Silver Edition in the kit with battery grip is now available to pre-order via the Bhphotovideo.com website for $2,099 and will be available from September 2020.

To match the K-1 Mark II Silver Edition, Ricoh Imaging presents three HD Pentax-D FA lenses in silver design:

  • HD Pentax-D FA * 50mm f/1.4 SDM AW Silver Edition
  • HD Pentax-D FA * 85mm f/1.4 ED SDM AW Silver Edition
  • HD Pentax-D FA * 70-200mm f/2.7 ED DC AW Silver Edition

These special lenses of the Star series, which are designed for use with Pentax K-mount digital SLR cameras, will be available worldwide in a limited number of 600 pieces per model. They differ from the black series lenses in that they have a finely structured surface of the silver coating. To underline the exclusivity of this lens series, which is delivered in specially designed product packaging, each lens is given a unique serial number from 0000001 to 0000600. The lenses in this series can also be identified by a new logo.

The 50mm fixed focal length with a light intensity of 1:1.4 is suitable for reportage shots in poor light or for portraits with effective bokeh. By using three glass elements with extremely low dispersion and one aspherical element, chromatic and spherical aberrations are effectively reduced and brilliant images with high contrast and sharpness are produced. Since the distortion is minimized even with a focusing distance at close range, the new 50mm lens delivers sharp and distortion-free images over the entire focusing range, from 40cm to infinity.

The newly developed Ring-SDM autofocus drive has 7.5 times the torque of conventional lenses and ensures consistently fast and low-noise focusing via the rear lens group.

The HD Pentax-D FA * 50mm f/1.4 SDM AW Silver Edition is now available to pre-order via the Bhphotovideo.com for $1,199.95 and will be available from September 2020.

HD Pentax-D FA * 85mm f/1.4 ED SDM AW

HD Pentax-D FA * 85mm f/1.4 ED SDM AW Silver Edition

The high speed of 1:1.4 and the focal length of 85mm are particularly suitable for portraits, and landscapes. The maximum aperture of 1:1.4 is an important requirement not only for portraits with efficiently defocused background and the associated bokeh. The lens is also predestined for many other applications, such as taking pictures in low light and handheld or in special genres such as concert and reportage photography.

The HD Pentax-D FA * 85mm f/1.4 ED SDM AW has three optical Super ED glass elements (Extra-low Dispersion) for the effective minimization of the chromatic aberration and an aspherical optical element for the efficient compensation of spherical and chromatic aberrations as well as the field curvature. In addition, the distortion is reduced to almost zero at a focusing distance of up to four meters. Clearly defined, distortion-free images are thus possible over the entire focusing range, from the minimum focus distance to infinity.

HD Pentax-D FA * 85mm f/1.4 ED SDM AW Silver Edition is now available to pre-order via the Bhphotovideo.com for $1,999.95 and is expected to be available from February 2021.

HD Pentax-D FA * 70-200mm f/2.7 ED DC AW

HD Pentax-D FA * 70-200mm f/2.7 ED DC AW Silver Edition

This universal telephoto zoom lens with a continuous aperture of f/2.8 and a triple zoom range is particularly suitable for portrait and action photography. Among other things, two ED elements (extra-low dispersion), two super ED elements and four super-low dispersion elements ensure efficient compensation of chromatic aberrations over the entire zoom range. In addition, rounded blades in the lens result in a natural and beautiful bokeh, which is especially important for portraits. The quick shift function allows manual intervention in automatic focusing at any time. In addition, the focus area can be limited using a switch on the lens. In addition to the entire focus area, the AF area can be switched to infinity between 1.2 to 4 m and 4 m.

The HD Pentax-D FA * 70-200mm f/2.7 ED DC AW Silver Edition is also available to pre-order via the Bhphotovideo.com for $2,099.95 and it will be available from September 2020.
