The new Leica Q3 43 digital camera features a fixed APO-Summicron 43mm F/2 ASPH lens. It includes a full-frame 60 MP sensor, which can also function in 36 and 18 MP modes. The camera supports hybrid autofocus (phase and contrast detection) with an ISO sensitivity range of 50 to 100,000.
In simple terms, the Leica Q3 43 is essentially the same camera released in 2023 but with a new lens. It retains the 60-megapixel sensor, phase-detection autofocus system, and ISO sensitivity range of 50 to 100,000. The camera also features the same 5.76-million-dot OLED viewfinder, three-inch tilting touchscreen, and IP52-rated water and dust resistance as the original Leica Q3.
The new Leica Q3 43 turned out to be compact and stylish – with a tilting display and support for 8K video shooting. The lens retains a built-in macro mode (activated via a nifty dial on the lens), which allows close focusing from 26.5 to 60 centimeters.
When not in macro mode, the lens can focus as close as 60 centimeters. The lens also uses a built-in leaf shutter, which allows flash synchronization at speeds up to 1/2000 of a second.
Leica claims the lens captures sharp, high-contrast images in all lighting conditions, thanks to its apochromatic optical design with four aspherical elements. Optically, it consists of 11 lens elements arranged in 8 groups and has an aperture range of F/2 to F/16 in 1/3 EV steps.
Key Features:

New Leica Q3 43 price and release date
The new Leica Q3 43 is available now from the Bhphotovideo.com and Adorama.com online stores worldwide for $6,895 — a significant premium over the Leica Q3’s $5,995 starting price.
Leica previously released the Vario-Elmarit-SL 70-200mm F/2.8 lens for L-mount, along with the Extender L 2.0x teleconverter. When attached, the teleconverter transforms the lens into a 140-400mm F/5.6. Despite its complex optical design and weight of 1540 grams, Leica claims the Vario-Elmarit-SL 70-200mm F/2.8 ASPH delivers top-tier image quality.
