QNAP introduces TS-253E and TS-453E Desktop Storage Powered by Intel Elkhart Lake

QNAP Systems has announced the TS-253E and TS-453E desktop network-attached storage devices. The new best NAS for home office can be used, for example, as a file server or a system for backing up information.

The desktop storage devices are based on the Intel Elkhart Lake hardware platform. A Celeron J6412 processor is installed, which contains four cores without multithreading support. The base clock frequency is 2.0 GHz, and the maximum frequency is 2.6 GHz. The network storage includes Intel UHD graphics. NAS network attached storage carries on board 8 GB of RAM.

QNAP TS-253E allows the installation of two drives in the form factor 3.5/2.5 inches, QNAP TS-453E – four. Connection interface – SATA 3.0; hot-swappable. In addition, there are two connectors for M.2 2280 solid-state modules with a PCIe 3.0 x2 interface.

New NAS QNAP items are endowed with two network ports 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet. There are two USB 2.0 and USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A connectors as well as two HDMI 1.4b interfaces. An active cooling system with a fan is used.

The TS-253E and TS-453E best NAS for home comes with the proprietary operating system QTS 5.0.0. QNAP TS-253E NAS system has been priced at $509 / £549 on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk websites. QNAP TS-453E is also listed online but without any availability details.

Recently, QNAP offered the new TS-410E fanless NAS network storage device that does not require active cooling and so no associated noise pollution. The new 2.5GbE NAS can be connected to an external display using HDMI and is priced at $799.
