Google has given its smart speakers update and a new name. The Nest Audio Smart Speaker should not only have become smarter but above all the audio quality should have been improved because Google promises a strong, crystal-clear sound.
Just a few days after Amazon introduced a completely newly developed Echo (from $49.99 on Amazon), the direct competitor product from Google Smart Speaker has already followed. In contrast to Amazon, the company is primarily concentrating on improving the audio quality, because a new 75 mm woofer and 19 mm tweeter work inside, which are supposed to provide crystal-clear, room-filling sound.
Three far-field microphones recognize the user’s voice to use the Google Assistant. The digital assistant can not only answer the usual questions or play music from different sources and streaming services but also control compatible smart home devices by voice command. To protect privacy, the microphones can be deactivated using a switch on the back, and the voice assistant can delete the collected data on command.
Exciting: If you have several Nest loudspeakers, the music should follow the user from room to room by communicating with a smartphone with an installed Google Home app. The Nest Audio voice speaker should also be particularly environmentally friendly, the housing is made of 70 percent recycled plastic.
