Other technical features of the new NEC EA242WU include a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 6 ms response time (grey to gray), 8-bit color depth, and typical brightness of 300 cd/m².

If desired, two internal loudspeakers can be used as sound generators, however, which are extremely weak at 1 watt each. Remote maintenance of the monitor via the network is possible using NEC’s NaViSet Administrator 2 software.

The interface selection of the best 24 inch monitor includes DisplayPort (input and output, daisy chain capable), HDMI, a USB 3.1 hub, a headphone output, an RJ-45 socket, and USB-C with 65-watt power supply and DisplayPort Alternate mode.

In terms of ergonomics, thanks to the rotation, tilt, height adjustment, pivot, VESA mount (100 x 100 mm), blue light filtering, and flicker-free backlight, hardly anything is left to be desired. Even an ambient light sensor can help save power.
