QNAP Systems introduced the TS-873AeU series of NAS drives storage devices. The NAS QNAP system series includes TS-873AeU and TS-873AeU-RP models. This is a 297.4mm (297.4mm) U2 form factor NAS designed for rack mounts. A distinctive feature of the second TS-873AeU-RP NAS device model is the redundancy of the power supply.
The QNAP TS-873AeU series is powered by high-performance and energy-efficient AMD Ryzen Embedded V1000 processors. More specifically, a V1500B quad-core processor capable of running up to eight instruction streams while clocked at 2.2GHz. The amount of DDR4 memory is 4 GB. Expandable up to 64 GB by installing SO-DIMM modules.
The NAS QNAP storage is designed for eight 2.5″ or 3.5″ SATA 6Gb/s drives. Hot-swap supported. The TS-873AeU features two 2.5GbE ports with aggregation support, and two M.2 PCIe Gen 3 x1 slots for caching SSD or SSD storage. In such a slot, you can also install an accelerator for image recognition using algorithms.
For NAS drives expansion, there are PCIe Gen3 x 8 slots that can install, for example, a 25/10GbE network card, an M.2 NVMe SSD card, etc. You can also note the presence of four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports (10 Gb / s), two of which are connected to Type-A connectors, and two to Type-C connectors.
According to the manufacturer, the NAS system storage is suitable for solving resource-intensive tasks, including the operation of virtual machines, intensive multi-user access, and hybrid cloud applications.
