Naim audio brand recently introduced a streaming player, DAC, pre-amp all-in-one Uniti Atom Headphone Edition with AirPlay 2 support, giving users a simple option for music streaming needs. The new media streaming device is strongly optimized from the first Uniti Atom model, owns a 6.3mm jack, XDR balanced, and Pentagon 4.4mm, compatible with most of the headsets available on the market today.

Customers can use Uniti Atom Headphone Edition to quickly stream music from their internal music library or from streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Qobuz), internet radio stations, podcasts… or music sources as diverse as a turntable or USB hard drive. Apple Air Play 2 and Chromecast connections are also supported. Uniti Atom Headphone Edition features can be easily set up and activated from the Naim App.

The Naim App interface makes it easy to access and control music, and also allows connection to other sound systems in the home. The App will display your full music library, a list of your favorite radio stations, streaming services, and playlists, in addition to additional information about artists and works.

Uniti Atom Headphone Edition can also be used as a compact pre-amp to work directly with active speakers or power amplifier + speaker systems. As mentioned above, not only supports AirPlay 2 connection, users can also connect other devices (such as turntable) to Uniti Atom Headphone Edition. The media streaming device supports music quality up to 384kHz/32bit.

Price and availability

The new Naim Uniti Atom Headphone Edition streaming player will be fully compatible with other Naim streaming products including the old Mu-so system. The current selling price of the product is $3,290 and it can be purchased via the Amazon.com website.

Earlier this year, Cambridge Audio has introduced the DacMagic 200M, a digital to analog converter (DAC) that doubles as a headphone amplifier. The Preamplifier product has a minimalist design: on the front, there are three buttons (on/off, source, and filter selection), a headphone output on a 6.3 mm jack, a central knob, and is priced at $499.
