MSI MPG 272URX QD-OLED 4K HDR Gaming Monitor with 240Hz and Nvidia G-Sync

MSI recently unveiled the new MPG 272URX gaming screen, and it is now listed online. It uses a five-layer tandem QD-OLED panel with electroluminescence, and promises improved text display with fewer color fringes. Previous OLED monitors still visibly lag behind IPS models because of this. Tandem QD OLED reportedly increases efficiency by up to 30 percent compared to previous QD OLED generations.

It is a 26.5-inch monitor with 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels), 240 Hz refresh rate, DisplayHDR True Black 400, and ClearMR 13 000. You can find out more about the recently revealed even higher levels of the VESA standards here.

The specs are otherwise unremarkable in terms of QD-OLED properties. The MSI MPG 272URX QD-OLED offers a 0.03 ms fast gray change, a 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio, 10-bit color depth, and brightness levels of 250 cd/m² (SDR), 450 cd/m² (HDR, 10 percent APL), and 1,000 cd/m² (HDR, 3 percent APL). The color space coverage amounts to 138 percent sRGB, 99 percent DCI-P3, and 98 percent Adobe RGB.

G-Sync compatible adaptive syncing is responsible for the anti-tearing measure. Console gamers can enjoy 4K120, ALLM, and VRR via HDMI 2.1 (48 Gbit/s). Two of these interfaces are available. There is also a DisplayPort 2.1a (UHBR20, 80 Gbit/s), a USB 3.0 hub, a headphone output, and USB-C with DisplayPort alternate mode and 98-watt PD.

All graphic connections should be able to handle 4K240, but only DisplayPort 2.1a can do this without compression (DSC). A KVM switch is also part of the equipment, as are picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes, a firmware update function, a fanless custom heatsink, and measures against burn-in effects (OLED Care 2.0). The 4K HDR monitor PS5 model can be tilted, rotated, adjusted in height, and pivoted.

MSI MPG 272URX QD-OLED Price and Release Date

The new MSI QD-OLED price is $1,099.99 on Newegg and £1,066.50 on Amazon.co.uk. The manufacturer offers a three-year warranty. A larger sister model, the MSI MPG 322URX QD-OLED, was recently listed online for $1,299.99 but lacks the tandem OLED technology.
