MSI has listed a new 24-inch 1080p IPS monitor called the MAG 242F on Amazon, and notably, it is very affordable. Specifically, it features a 23.8-inch Rapid IPS panel with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), a 200 Hz refresh rate, and a 1000:1 contrast ratio. Furthermore, the spec sheet highlights a 10-bit color depth (8-bit + FRC), 300 cd/m² brightness, and 115 percent sRGB coverage.
AMD FreeSync Premium Sync support eliminates tearing in games. Furthermore, a dynamic black stabilizer (AI Vision) is available. VRR (“Variable Refresh Rate”) is even possible in the corresponding display mode when connected to modern game consoles. However, you shouldn’t expect miracles from the monitor’s advertised HDR functionality, as the brightness levels alone aren’t sufficient for a convincing result.
On the connectivity side, you’ll find HDMI 2.0b, DisplayPort 1.2a, and a headphone jack. When it comes to ergonomics, you’ll have to make do with tilt adjustment, VESA mounting (100 x 100 mm), blue light filtering, and flicker-reduced backlighting. Additionally, a Kensington lock is included for theft protection.

In addition to this 24-inch 1080p IPS monitor, MSI also launched the MAG 346CQ, a new 34 QHD ultrawide monitor with a curved VA panel, 3440 x 1440p, 21:9, a refresh rate of 180 Hz, and a 4000:1 contrast ratio. It cost only $290.
