Along with the MSI GE76 Raider, MSI has also made available the Stealth GS77 gaming laptop that shares similar features as GE76. MSI GS77 has multiple subwoofers, 4K 120 Hz display, Core i9, and Nvidia flagship GPUs. Not only has the trackpad finally gotten bigger, but so has the RGB keys on the keyboard.
MSI has introduced its next generation of gaming laptops at CES 2022: MSI GS77 is a lightweight business gaming hybrid that weighs 2.59 kg and is getting a feature-packed redesign this year. The laptop has a MUX switch. The trackpad here is made out of glass and finally grown by 50 percent.
MSI has given its 20.8 mm thin “Business” gamer new zinc alloy hinges, which are said to be twice as stable. The case is also metal, and while the keys on the RGB-backlit keyboard have grown by 8 percent, they now also have a solid metal coating with a travel of 1.7mm.
A maximum of 64 GB of DDR5 RAM, an Intel Core i9-12900H, and a 175 watt RTX 3080 Ti are available, powered by a 240-watt slim power supply. 100-watt USB-C charging is supported (at least 65 watts required), mobile devices are charged with 27 watts. It is cooled with two 60 percent larger fans, 6 heat pipes, and a liquid metal pad. With the 17.3-inch display in 16:9 format, you again have three options: QHD 240 Hz | FHD 360Hz | 4K 120 Hz. The 10-watt audio system consists of four 2 W woofers and two 2 W upward-firing speakers.
The work-gaming hybrid offers plenty of connections: 2x USB-A, 2x USB-C (1x Thunderbolt 4), HDMI, SD card slot, 2.5 GBit LAN, plus Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and a 1080p -Cam with lock switch. The MSI GS77 laptop also features AI controls that prompt MSI to dub their product the “World’s smartest gaming laptop.” It remains to be seen whether 175 watts of the GPU can really be cooled, especially since the predecessor was limited to 95 watts with a similar chassis and cooling.
