Motorola has finally announced the price and availability of the new Moto Smart Speaker with Amazon Alexa developed in collaboration with Amazon, which sees the implementation of the Alexa voice assistant as an accessory to connect to the rear cover of Moto Z and Moto Z2 range smartphones.
Earlier at the Mobile World Congress 2017, the official name of this Moto Mod is Moto Smart Speaker, and as you can see from the pictures, this Moto Mod completely covers the back of the device, in fact, also hiding the camera sensor. Instead of the usual back case, you will have a huge blue color LED light ring, a typical style of all Amazon Echo products.
Moto Smart Speaker with Amazon Alexa is ready to replace any other voice assistant, able to handle many daily and demanding tasks, completely in mobility. Inside the mod is an 8 Watt stereo speaker with two 27mm tweeters, 4 microphones to interact with Alexa, and an integrated 1530mAh battery.
The loudspeaker measures 153.2 x 73.2 x 22.8 mm and weighs 168 grams, combined with smartphones which are compatible with Moto Mods (such as Moto Z), will greatly increase the weight and thickness of the device. An accessory currently only available in the United States at a price tag of $149.99.
