Morul U2 Review: Magnetic Wireless Sports Headphones

In the market for a budget friendly pair of waterproof headphones? We got a chance to try out the Morul U2, an excellent low-cost headset that is well suited for running and other activities. Design

From head to toe, it seems that the Morul U2 headphones have been created to match well with anyone who wants a reliable, inexpensive pair that’s built specifically for working out. Weighing just 19 grams, they’re incredibly lightweight and simplistic in their design.

Attached to each earbud is a hook that positions them within your ear canal in a comfortable manner so they don’t fall out or come lose over time. One of the more unique features that we noticed about the Morul U2 Headphones is their magnetic ability. Each earbud is equipped with a magnetic backing that allows users to clasp them together, around their neck, while not in use. This gives an easy and perfectly useful way to keep them out of the way but still within reach when you’d like to resume listening. 

The Wireless Headphones have a standard IPX7 protection against sweat and water splash, it shaped a layer on the surface of the headset which blocking the infringement of water to the internal circuitry.

Performance

The Morul U2 has an impedance of 16Ohms, a frequency range of 20Hz – 20,000Hz, and a sensitivity of 109dB. Three pairs of rubber tips in different sizes are included in the box, to help you achieve the most comfortable fit. The U2 has a standard twisted cable, with an in-line remote and microphone. 

It’s also worth mentioning that they’re equipped with CVC 6.0 noise cancellation technology. This technology filters out surrounding noise and gives your voice a more true and natural sound that isn’t easily interruptible by grey noise or common distractions.

Sound

The Morul U2 is a budget-friendly option and are priced much lower than their competition, we were totally surprised on how phenomenal the sound quality actually is. They excelled well with all sorts of genres of music and seemed to do well with songs that contained heavy bass. 

In terms of daily use, the earphones fared well – they’re just as comfortable for long commutes as they are for lying in bed. They fit fairly securely, and the mic was reliable during calls. Overall, the Morul U2 sounds nice, with but the strong bass here.

Battery

With the included micro USB charging cable, you can completely replenish the internal rechargeable 120mAh battery within about 1 and half hours. As for battery life, the advertised length is 6 to 8 hours, which we found to be quite accurate. The play sound and the music style will have affect on the using time, we highly recommend giving them a full charge to assure that they’re good to go and ready for a long workout without any interruptions. 

Connectivity

Utilizing the Bluetooth 4.1 technology, the Morul U2 Wireless Earbuds boast a completely wireless connection that offers true freedom from your connected device. It can easily connects with an iPad, iPhone, Android or tablet, and the pairing process is very straightforward and nearly self explanatory. All you need to do is press and hold the “play” button for roughly 5 seconds. You should then see the LED blink between red and blue. At this time, go into your device’s settings and select the “U2” connection. 

Final line

China-based Mifo has been doing a good job in putting out a reasonably priced audio products which deliver quality, and aren’t a lot of other choices at this price point which sound much better. 

Build quality seems reasonable, and it’s light and comfortable too. The audio profile isn’t for everyone, but there’s always a lot of demand for extra bass. Available for just $22 via Amazon, the Morul U2 is a good budget-friendly option for people seeking a waterproof sports headset with bass boost.
