Mobvoi is known for its well-equipped Wear OS Fitness Smartwatch models. With the latest model – TicWatch GTX is now available on Amazon, however, the company is concentrating on the essentials: Google’s operating system had to go, but the exercise watch offers the most important smart and fitness features and a battery life of up to ten days at an affordable price.
With the TicWatch GTX, Mobvoi is pursuing a similar approach to Huawei with the Watch GT 2 (approx. $178 on Amazon): The hardware is reduced to the necessary minimum in order to improve the battery life and lower the price. Unlike Wear OS or the Apple Watch (from $169 on Amazon), the TicWatch GTX does not have access to an app store, but the software still offers many of the most popular smart watch fitness features.
Because the clock is only equipped with a round, 1.28 inch LCD with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels as well as a 40 MHz CPU, 160 KB RAM, and 16 MB flash memory. Nevertheless, the best fitness watches for women and men offer some interesting features, such as the ability to adapt the dials to your own preferences, or to display notifications and incoming calls from the smartphone.
The Fitness Smartwatch also serves as an exercise watch, after all, 14 sports can be recorded, from running to cycling to swimming, the needs of many users should be met. The smartwatch is certified to IP68, which, according to Mobvoi should be sufficient for use in the pool. The battery lasts seven to ten days, depending on usage.
