Best portable monitor models, especially on notebooks – and thus, for example, on business trips or mobile use – allow an increase in productivity by expanding the available display area. Newer portable screen models also benefit from modern connections, which eliminates the need to use two cables for the supply of electrical energy and the actual image signals, which was previously necessary.

The LG Gram +View 16MQ70 is a new mobile monitor that can be connected with just one cable. Specifically, the mobile display has two USB Type C ports, which can not only pass on electrical energy, but also transmit image signals via DisplayPort Alternate Mode. The display consumes eight watts of power. The mobile external monitor does not have its own battery.

The 360 x 245.5 millimeter and 8.3-millimeter display offers a screen diagonal of 16 inches. The manufacturer puts the resolution at 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, and the refresh rate at 60 Hz. The typical contrast is given as 1,200:1, and the typical brightness at 350 cd/m². The DCI-P3 color space should be covered by 99 percent. Both the horizontal and vertical viewing angles are rated at 170°.

LG specifies the weight of the mobile display as 671 grams, the folio cover that weight increases to 989 grams.
