Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM for the Redmi 5A smartphone. Users can expect to receive over-the-air notification on their devices in coming days.
The Chinese company confirmed the MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM rollout for the device in a forum post and said, “MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM V9.2.1.0.NCKMIEK has been released for Redmi 5A. This is currently pushed as OTA and you will get it via the Updater app. Check your Updater App for the OTA.”
Refreshing the changelog for the MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A will be receiving “Add to favorites” icon adjustments, simplified design for virus scan result page, and hiding free and incompatible themes in the list of the purchased items. Additionally, Mi Mover will now support data migration restarting, which will help restore data migration on a new smartphone, even in case of interruption.
Other highlights of MIUI 9 include Smart Assistant which can be accessed by swiping up from the home screen, a smart app launcher that suggests apps to launch based on the screen. And finally, it’s image search feature which can distinguish between photos based on the keywords you enter.
