Meizu Zero With Waterproof unibody 3D design, No Physical Buttons, eSIM Announced

Meizu Zero is the new smartphone by the Chinese manufacturer anticipated by the recent day’s rumors and finally introduced by Senior VP Li Nan during a live broadcast. Actually, we expected a smartphone with a built-in camera below the display, but it was not. However, there remain many innovative details, the result of 75 patented technologies on which the company has worked for two years, as it comes without any physical buttons, ports, or even the SIM-tray slot.

Meizu Zero entirely focused on a waterproof unibody 3D design that can only please the eye. However, the absence of the camera under the display, which is replaced by a more traditional 20MP sensor in the thin upper edge.

How to avoid the absence of the charging port and even the SIM slot? Simple: Meizu Zero recharges in 18W Super mCharge wireless mode, while for phone calls and connection to the network in cellular mode you will have to rely on eSIM. There is no other detail regarding the audio: if there are no holes from where it comes out? Even in this case, the answer is “simple”: Meizu has equipped Zero with a mSound 2.0 technology display that lets you transmit sound through the 5.99-inch OLED panel.

Meizu Zero features a minimalistic design, with Black and White glossy back panel finishes. At the back, the smartphone also features a dual rear camera setup: a 12MP rear camera with wide-angle lens, 1/2.3″ Sony IMX380 sensor, 1.55μm pixel size, f/1.8 aperture, 4-axis OIS, PDAF, Laser auto-focus, and secondary 20MP telephoto lens, Sony IMX350 sensor, f/2.6 aperture, 6-LED ring LED flash.

The smartphone features an in-screen fingerprint scanner, and the display is devoid of a notch or a display hole for that matter. It comes with slight chins on the top and bottom bezel both, and the left and right sides stretch out.

The smartphone is also IP68 dust and water-resistant, which means it can withstand immersion underwater for up to 30 minutes. It has a 5.99-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2160 × 1080 pixels) resolution, and 2.5D curved glass protection. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor paired with Adreno 630 GPU.

For selfie, Meizu Zero has a 20-megapixel sensor with AI Face Unlock support and f/2.0 aperture. The handset runs on Android OS -based on Flyme OS 7 out of the box. For connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, 2×2 MIMO, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.
