Sony has introduced the LinkBuds Speaker, a new Bluetooth speaker that boasts an impressive battery life of up to 25 hours and compatibility with the newly launched Sound Connect app.
Alongside the LinkBuds Fit and LinkBuds Open earbuds, the LinkBuds Speaker marks the debut of Sony’s first Bluetooth speaker in the LinkBuds series.
Despite its compact design, Sony promises “excellent, balanced sound” from the LinkBuds Speaker. The device features a two-way speaker system, which includes a dedicated tweeter, an X-Balanced Speaker Unit (woofer), and passive radiators for enhanced bass performance. With its sound distribution processor and DSP technology, the LinkBuds Speaker aims to fill any room with rich audio.
In addition to streaming music and audiobooks, the new Bluetooth speaker can be utilized for phone calls when paired with a smartphone via Bluetooth. Echo cancellation technology ensures clear and interruption-free conversations. The built-in battery enables up to 25 hours of use, and the new Sony Speaker comes complete with a charging station.
The speaker’s design is sleek and straightforward. It features an IPX4 splash-proof rating, making it suitable for outdoor use. Thanks to its removable carrying strap, portability is a breeze. Users can control the Speaker using the buttons located on the top. They can also use the new Sound Connect app, which Sony launched alongside its latest products.
The Sound Connect app introduces new functionalities, including Auto Switch, Quick Access, and Auto Play. It seamlessly transitions playback between LinkBuds earbuds and the LinkBuds Speaker, allowing for a fluid listening experience. The Quick Access feature lets users enjoy one-touch listening, while Auto Play adapts to their routines for even greater convenience.

Like the other new products, the new Speaker is available for pre-order now. Shipping will start next week, with a recommended retail price of $179.99 on Amazon. It will come in two elegant colors: black and light gray.
