LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition with 4G LTE and Android Wear Launched

Besides the new LG V10 Smartphone, LG today also unveiled a new and advanced version of the Watch Urbane, dubbed as LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition. A new 2nd Edition still owns round clock face as a previous watch and steel frame.

The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition or Watch Urbane 2 comes with a larger screen, but overall size looks smaller, higher resolution screen and especially with 4G LTE connectivity same as the Samsung Gear S. LG Watch Urbane 2 now also able to receive call using 3G or LTE connection that is not dependent on any other smartphone device. In other words Urbane 2 can operate independently without the phone, besides the ability to connect to a smartphone via Bluetooth as usual.

The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition chassis made of stainless steel and available in four straps in different colors. Urbane 2 has round screen, but LG says it has large display size than the previous generation like 1.38-inch P-OLED screen with 480×480 pixels resolution, a pixel density of 348ppi and measures 44.5mm. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 768MB of RAM, and along with 4GB of internal storage.

For comparison, previous LG Urbane Smart Watch has 1.3-inch screen and 320×320 pixels resolution. The frame around the screen has more harmonious and beautiful design. Urbane 2 has two extra buttons next to the middle button. It is also IP67-certified and supports various sensors include GPS, heart rate sensor, accelerometer, compass, gyro and barometer.

LG has not announced the release date and price of the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition.
