LG has unveiled the UltraGear OLED 45GX950A, a technological marvel and the successor to the UltraGear OLED 45GS95QE. Debuting at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, it will amaze tech enthusiasts with its 5K2K resolution and advanced connectivity, setting a new standard in the gaming monitor industry.

LG has finally revealed the first details of the UltraGear OLED 45GX950A, about a month after the National Radio Research Agency in South Korea spotted the same monitor. In a surprising turn of events, LG is launching the UltraGear OLED 45GX950A and the UltraGear OLED 45GX990A, promising an even more immersive VR experience. This unexpected move has undoubtedly piqued the interest of gaming enthusiasts.
In short, LG will replace the UltraGear OLED 45GS950A and UltraGear OLED 45GS95QE (approx. $996.99 on Amazon) with the UltraGear OLED 45GX950A. LG introduced the older models at CES 2024 before releasing them to the market a few months later. With its 5K2K resolution and advanced connectivity, is a significant upgrade over its predecessor, promising a more immersive and seamless gaming experience. Additionally, the monitor is equipped with DisplayPort, HDMI, USB Type-A, and USB Type-B ports.
On the other hand, LG has confirmed that the UltraGear OLED 45GX950A will run natively at 5,120 x 2,160 (5K2K) while maintaining a 21:9 aspect ratio and a 0.03ms GtG response time. While the monitor’s refresh rate remains unknown, LG adds that the UltraGear OLED 45GX950A also offers DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 connectivity and a USB Type-C port that supports 90W Power Delivery.

The UltraGear OLED 45GX950A will also feature LG’s “Second Generation Dual-Mode,” which offers customizable combinations of image size and aspect ratio on command. The new monitor also features an RGWB subpixel layout, Anti-Glare & Low Reflection (AGLR) coating, and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) for modern consoles and high-end gaming PCs.
