LG UltraGear 27G850A 27-inch 4K Gaming Monitor with 240Hz and DisplayHDR 600

The South Korean electronics company LG presented another best 4K gaming monitor 27-inch model at CES 2025 and is now listed online. The UltraGear 27G850A comes with Nano IPS Black technology—a first in itself in the product segment that HP, for example, also wants to serve with the 280 Hz Omen 27qs G2. However, LG went one step further and implemented its Dual Hz mode.

The 27G850A can display 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) at up to 240 Hz or Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) at a maximum of 480 Hz. The IPS black panel also promises a 2000:1 contrast, a 1 ms fast gray change, 99 percent DCI-P3, and a DisplayHDR 600 certification. They rate the peak brightness at 600 cd/m². AMD free sync ™ Premium Pro and g sync ™ compatible Adaptive Sync are available as anti-tearing measures.

Another surprise in the range of interfaces is that LG has installed a modern DisplayPort 2.1, but it does not mention its bandwidth. We will see whether it will offer the full 80 Gbit/s (UHBR20) or if you will have to make do with the slimmed-down UHBR13.5. Other connections include two HDMI 2.1 inputs, a USB hub, and a DTS Headphone: X headphone output. Regarding ergonomics, tilt, rotation, height adjustment, pivot, and VESA mounting (100 x 100 mm) are available.
