LG’s new QNED AI series will launch in early May. Featuring the “Alpha AI NPU,” the new generation is expected to offer additional AI features and optimize the TV experience. LG also focuses on partnerships with cloud gaming providers, which should benefit gamers.

The new premium TVs not only combine artificial intelligence with the advantages of the OLED series, but also offer several standout features. For instance, they include numerous convenience enhancements, immersive surround sound, and a razor-sharp picture. Moreover, the operating system is webOS 25, which comes with five years of support.
Crisp, clear visuals powered by Alpha AI
LG is now using an “Alpha AI Processor” for its new TVs. Specifically, the NPU directly controls the mini-LED panels, thereby optimizing light control. As a result, the picture appears richer and the colors more vibrant. Furthermore, LG perfects the concept with a feature called “AI Picture Pro,” which further fine-tunes and highlights details.
LG’s artificial intelligence affects not only the picture but also the sound. To achieve this, LG relies on a virtual 9.1.2 surround sound system that adds depth and sonority to the sound thanks to “AI Sound Pro.” There are over 1.6 billion pictures and 40 million sound profiles.
Thanks to Voice ID, the AI can distinguish between voices. Moreover, with pre-created user profiles, it seamlessly switches to preferred settings and, in addition, tailors ads and content recommendations accordingly.
The AI is an LLM (Large Language Model) model from Microsoft Copilot. The model analyzes search history and, as mentioned above, makes recommendations. The chatbot can also help with problems.
LG keeps Gamers in Mind
In addition to artificial intelligence, the QNED series TVs are designed to serve as smart hubs and replace gaming consoles. LG is working with cloud gaming providers to achieve the latter, likely referring to its partnership with Xbox.

For smooth motion, LG relies on AMD FreeSync Premium and combines it with 4K 144 Hz support (4K 155 Hz support is unavailable for all TVs in the QNED series, however). A press release shows that Apple Air and Google Cast connectivity has improved. The LG ThinQ interface is also available.
