LG presented a transparent smart TV with the Signature OLED T at CES 2023. Over the past months, the design and innovative new features have been revised. The exciting LG OLED transparent display will finally hit the market in 2025.

LG demonstrated the Signature OLED T at CES – again, as the first version of the TV was already on display at CES 2023. This year, however, the design has been fundamentally revised. LG has installed a motorized black film behind the 77-inch OLED panel. Users can raise it at the touch of a button to transform the TV into a conventional OLED Smart TV.
The new design also changes the frame, with the transparent panel now serving as the front glass cover of a small shelf, allowing objects to be placed behind the panel. This additional depth also helps the Smart TV to suggest depth. This means that popular effects, such as a digital fireplace, reportedly look much more realistic than on conventional TVs.
LG provides several such effects, which can transform the Smart TV into an aquarium or an oversized weather app, among other things. Buyers will still have to do without LG’s best OLED technology, as the OLED T does not have an MLA panel like the OLED G3 and, therefore, does not achieve the same peak brightness.
The LG OLED transparent display supports some of LG’s most advanced features, including the Zero Connect Box, which can wirelessly stream content from devices such as a PlayStation 5 to the Smart TV in 4K and 120 Hz.

Samsung recently introduced its new QN990F NEO QLED 8K TV line at CES 2025. With Vision AI, the TV can now act as an assistant to help you watch better content, while the wireless One Connect makes the TV setup simpler and more beautiful.
The rest of the Samsung QN990F NEO QLED 8K is an LCD TV with a MINI-LED panel, a quantum dot color processing layer that Samsung has developed for many years. The NEO QLED 8K QN990F still has a skinny screen border of only about 2mm, and the TV is only about 1cm thick. When mounted on the wall, it is almost flat.
