LG has announced the pricing and availability of its LG C3 OLED 4K TV portfolio. LG introduced its 2023 TV portfolio at CES 2023. It contains all sorts of new OLED and mini-LED TVs. Today, the manufacturer has added specific information on the recommended retail price and availability.
LG C3 series OLED Evo Gallery Edition Smart TV gets lots of exciting improvements, including a picture that’s up to 70 percent brighter and the new α9 Gen6 4K AI processor, which should enable better picture and sound quality thanks to deep learning.
These apply both to the upscaling of content and to dynamic tone mapping, which is intended to reproduce images in more detail. The TV speakers can play virtual 9.1.2 surround sound through the AI processor. With “Wow Orchestra” it is possible to connect the speakers of the TV to a compatible soundbar so that all drivers work together. webOS gets a comprehensive update, including a new user interface that LG calls “All new home”.
The home screen is more customizable, while “quick cards” allow quick access to content and services grouped by categories such as home office, gaming, and music. LG’s AI Concierge compiles a list of recommendations based on the content users have viewed in the past. Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos are still standard equipment. HDMI 2.1a is new, including support for Quick Media Switching VRR (QMS-VRR), so that the screen no longer briefly goes black when the frame rate is changed.
Nvidia G-Sync, AMD FreeSync, and VRR are still supported. So far, LG has hardly provided any concrete details about the technology.
LG C3 OLED 4K TV price and release date
The LG C3 OLED Evo series pre-order will start from March 6 on Amazon.com for the model with 55, 65, and 83 inches, and pricing starts from $1,799.99.
Along with the C3 series, LG also made available the G3 OLED Smart TV series with the α9 Gen6 4K AI processor, a new version of webOS, support for AMD FreeSync, NVIDIA G-SYNC, and HDMI 2.1a. It can be pre-ordered on Bhphotovideo.com and pricing starts from $2,496.99 for the model with a 55-inch diagonal.
