LG Action Cam LTE with 4K UHD and Live Streaming Announced

LG has launched a new action camera in addition to LG Friends named LG Action CAM LTE. A special feature of this device is integrated 4G LTE connectivity, allowing for users to stream directly to sites such as YouTube Live without a smartphone.

LG Action CAM LTE features 1/2.3-inch 12.3-megapixel camera sensor along with 4K UHD and Full HD video recording capabilities. LG Action CAM design is quite similar to the traditional CCTV style. In addition to live streaming feature, LG also included remote access functionality via 3G and LTE which will enable the device to be used as a CCTV camera for home monitoring or as an automobile dash camera. Wi-Fi connectivity is also there to communicate via mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

The possibility of video recording, LG Action CAM LTE support standard 4K UHD video recording at 30fps, Full HD at 60fps and HD at 120fps. Particularly, online live video streaming only supports HD 720p content at 30fps. Other equipment for this Action Cam include IP67 certification, accelerometer, gyroscope, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0 connectivity via Type-C interface. It packs in 1400mAh battery under the hood which is quite high capacity compared to other action cameras available in the market currently, providing the ability to shoot Full HD 4 hours.

Compared with similar segment devices on the market, the LG Action CAM LTE benefits with YouTube, popular ustream.tv or livestream.com. The new device is more advanced when support RTMP, but also very rare that integrates LTE functionality. LG has not disclosed price of Action CAM LTE, but it will be available from next month on the market.

Earlier, LG also introduced 360 Cam with more innovative features such as dual front and rear 13MP camera sensor has the ability to record wide panorama video but without LTE network. Along with LG 360 VR Headset with USB-C port, two lenses each with a size of 1.88″ and resolution of 960 x 720 pixels with a with a pixel density of 639ppi. Both devices share the same price tag of $199.99.
