South Korean electronics giant LG is launching a new gaming monitor called the UltraGear 32GX870A, which aims to impress with its modern features. It’s a 31.5-inch WOLED monitor with dual-Hz functionality: It natively runs at 3840 x 2160 pixels (4K) at up to 240 Hz, but it can be switched to Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) and a maximum of 480 Hz for a higher frame rate or lower input lag, making it a top contender for the best OLED gaming experience.
In addition to 98.5 percent DCI-P3 and a 0.03 ms grayscale, the new monitor promises 10-bit color depth, a contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1, and brightness values of 275 cd/m² (typical) and 1,300 cd/m² (maximum). Other features include DisplayHDR True Black 400, FreeSync Premium Pro, and G-Sync compatibility. Additionally, it supports DTS Headphone:X, Auto Input Switch, and a crosshair overlay. Moreover, with the True Color Pro software, users with a compatible colorimeter can recalibrate the monitor anytime.
The interface offering is modern, with a DisplayPort 2.1, two HDMI 2.1 inputs, and a USB-C port (90 watts PD). A headphone jack and two USB-A ports (version 3.0) have also been included. Sound can be output via integrated speakers if required. Regarding ergonomics, the LG OLED AMD FreeSync monitor offers tilt, rotation, height adjustment, pivot, VESA mounting (100 x 100 mm), and blue light filtering, leaving little to be desired. It also includes a mode for people with color vision deficiency.
