LG UltraGear 27GX790A OLED gaming display with WQHD, 480 Hz and DP 2.1

South Korean electronics giant LG has released a new 480Hz refresh rate gaming monitor called the UltraGear 27GX790A. The 26.5-inch LG OLED gaming display features a WOLED MLA+ panel with an anti-reflective coating (AGLR). It offers a 2560 x 1440 pixels (WQHD) resolution with refresh rates of up to 480 Hz.

High refresh rate QHD display offers a fast gray-to-gray change of 0.03 ms and covers 98.5 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. It also promises a 10-bit color depth, 275 cd/m² typical brightness, and a contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1.

The new ultra-fast 27-inch gaming monitor is certified according to DisplayHDR True Black 400. It eliminates tearing with FreeSync Premium Pro or G-Sync compatible Adaptive Sync. A black stabilizer, a crosshair overlay, and an FPS display are also included. Hardware calibration is possible using the True Color Pro software (and a separate colorimeter).

The interfaces include a modern DisplayPort 2.1 (probably 54 Gbit/s, i.e., UHBR13.5), two HDMI 2.1 inputs, a USB 3.0 hub, and a headphone output (with DTS Headphone:X). Auto Input Switch saves you from going to the OSD to switch signal inputs on multiple connected devices.

Regarding ergonomics, the monitor offers extensive features, including tilt, rotation, height adjustment, pivot, and a VESA mount (100 x 100 mm). It also includes blue light filtering and a mode for people with color vision deficiency, leaving little to be desired.

LG 27GX790A price and release date
