Lenovo unveils the new series of ThinkPad X1 notebooks at the CES 2019 in Las Vegas that goes to support the Extreme model was introduced in Berlin during IFA 2018.
There are many innovations introduced on 7th generation X1 Carbon and 4th generation X1 Yoga, starting from the reduced thickness and weight, the aluminum case, unprecedented options for the display, the 8th generation Intel Core processors, to the Dolby Atmos and the Cat16 LTE-A wireless connection (optional).
Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon 2019
Made of carbon fiber, the new Thinkpad X1 Carbon 2019 represents a significant step forward compared to the first model was launched in 2011, reducing the weight from 1.7kg to just 1.08kg despite the display size steps from 13.3″ at 14″.
The notebook is characterized by the presence of a Dolby Atmos sound system with two tweeters and as many woofers to reproduce an engaging and crystalline sound. Four microphones are also integrated, as well as support for Cortana and Amazon Alexa. Use in mobility is guaranteed by the battery life up to 15 hours and WAN LTE-A and LTE Cat16 Wireless connectivity.
The display is customizable, with the possibility to choose the 10-bit Dolby Vision 4K panel with brightness up to 500 nits or, alternatively, the Full HD display at 400 nits. Inside there is the 8th generation Intel Core CPUs with 8GB / 16GB and up to 2TB of storage. There are two USB ports, two Thunderbolt 3 and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
On the privacy side, the ThinkPad PrivacyGuard is integrated into the FullHD 400-nit display to protect you from prying eyes. An alert will detect in the attempt of a foreign subject to look at the contents of the screen, and the software will activate the functionality automatically.
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 2019 can be purchased starting from June 2019 with prices starting from $1,709.
Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga 2019
ThinkPad X1 Yoga 2019 is now in its 4th generation, thinner (15.2mm), lighter (1.35kg) and with less pronounced frames, all in a chassis made of Iron Gray aluminum.
There are also several options for the 14″ display, the Dolby Atmos speaker system, the four microphones and the same connectivity compartment seen on ThinkPad X1 Carbon 2019.
Among the new features, we also mention support for dock solutions, including the ThinkPad Mechanical Dock, and the ThinkPad Pen Pro.
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga will be available for purchase from June 2019 at a starting price of $1,929.
