Along with the Lenovo S5, the company also announced the K5 and K5 Play smartphones in China. Both Lenovo K5 and K5 Play are budget smartphones comes with a 5.7-inch HD+ fullview display, dual rear cameras, glass back, and rear fingerprint sensor. The Lenovo K5 Play that is powered by Snapdragon 430 SoC, while the K5 is powered by the MediaTek MT6750 chipset.

The Lenovo K5 price in China has been set at CNY 899 – approximately $142 and the K5 Play costs CNY 699 – approximately $110. Both handsets come in Black, Grey, and Blue color options.

Both devices feature a 5.7-inch 2.5D curved glass display with HD+ (1440 × 720 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The K5 is powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core processor which supported by MediaTek MT6750 chipset coupled with Mali-T860 GPU, while the K5 Play is powered by Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and paired with Adreno 505 GPU.
For optics, these also have a dual rear camera sensor: K5 with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture, and secondary 5-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture. There is an 8-megapixels front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture for a selfie. Lenovo K5 packs a 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage, while the K5 Play has a 2GB / 3GB of RAM and 16GB / 32GB storage, expandable memory up to 128GB with microSD. Both variants have a glass back panel and rear fingerprint sensor.
Both devices run on Android 8.0 Oreo-based on ZUI 3.7 out of the box. Both packs 3000mAh battery and supports hybrid SIM slot with dual standby. For connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB 2.0 options. The K5 measures 153.8 x 72.7 x 7.8mm and weighs 160 grams, while the K5 Play dimensions are 153.75 x 72.6 x 7.85mm and weigh 155 grams.
