Lenovo IdeaPad 720S with Kaby Lake Briefly Listed Online

It seems that Lenovo is all set to add another IdeaPad to its range. It is much like an ultrabook, which follows a bit high-end trend with narrow display edges, minimize overall dimensions, but non-convertible, non-2-in-1. In other words, the Lenovo IdeaPad 720S has a 14-inch display, but has space for 13″, directly compete to the rival Dell XPS 13, or why not recently launched Surface Laptop.

Lenovo IdeaPad 720S

Dubbed Lenovo IdeaPad 720S-14IKB, it was spotted listed on a BestBuy retail site. According to the website listing, new Lenovo 720S ultrabook will feature metal chassis, Intel Core-U-Series KabyLake CPU with Nvidia GPU.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 720S sports a 14-inch IPS Full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display, 8GB / 16GB of DDR4 RAM and 512 GB PCIE SSD. It is powered by seventh generation Intel Core KabyLake processor, specifically i5-7200U and i7-7500U, and discrete NVIDIA GeForce 940MX GPU with Maxwell architecture.

Despite its narrow frame design, upper edge has HD (720p) webcam, fingerprint scanner just below the keyboard (of course backlit) and JBL speaker. The battery is 56 Wh, dimensions are 320 x 224 x 15.2 mm, and weight 1.6 Kg.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 2x USB 3.0 Type-A, a USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3, an HDMI, 3.5-mm jack and SDcard reader.

According retailers, the Lenovo IdeaPad 720S (codename 14IKB) pricing starts at $949 for the i5 / 8GB / 256GB variant, or $1329 for the i7 / 16GB / 512GB version. Both versions based on Windows 10 Home OS. The availability has been shown to end in June 2017 in the US.
