Leica Safari cameras have been very popular since the 1970s. Continuing this trend, the traditional German company will give the M11-P full-frame rangefinder camera an olive green finish with silver metallic accents.

Previously only available in silver and black, the Leica M11-P range is expanding with the introduction of the Safari Edition, adding an olive green option. In addition to the leatherette upholstery, the metal top and bottom plates also feature this distinctive shade of green. The metal elements on the top remain silver, while the rear buttons are black.
As with Leica’s “P” models, the camera does not feature the iconic red Leica logo. Instead, a discreet silver screw covers the aperture for adjusting the rangefinder, and the top of the camera is adorned with classic Leica lettering.

The M11-P Safari is identical to the regular M11-P in terms of specifications, featuring the same 60 MP full-frame sensor. Despite its high-resolution sensor, the camera can shoot at 36 or 18 MP using pixel binning to reduce RAW file sizes.
By forgoing autofocus, the camera forces photographers to rely on its tried-and-true rangefinder, though it does incorporate modern features like autoexposure. Leica also offers an optional electronic viewfinder. The M11-P has 256GB of internal storage and an SD card slot.
It features a 2.95-inch touchscreen display with a 2.3 million-dot resolution, protected by sapphire crystal to improve scratch resistance. You can recharge the battery directly inside the camera via USB-C. Wi-Fi 5 connectivity enables wireless photo transfers and lets you remotely control the camera using a smartphone.
