Leica has officially released a firmware update V2.0.2.5 for the Leica M Typ 240 camera.
This new Leica Firmware Update focused to fix occasional camera hang up when using LiveView and video functions. The company added more features to change the EV adjust flash exposure when Leica M 240 mounted with Leica SF 26.
Leica M 240 Firmware Update v2.0.2.5 Details:
- Add a new Menu features Flash exposure compensation to adjust the lash exposure when attached to the Leica SF 26 Flash lights (feature only works with SF 26). This feature also requires Firmware 1.1 on the SF 26 Flash.
- Several firmware bugs that caused occasional camera hang up when using Live View or Video function have been fixed.
How to update new firmware for the Leica M typ 240:
Download the firmware file M_240-2.0.2.5.FW HERE
- Format an SD memory card in your LeicaM
- Turn off the camera and insert the card into an SD card reader – either integrated or connected to your computer. (A reader is required for Firmware updates).
- Save the file M_240-2.0.2.5.FW at the top level of the card’s folder structure.
Remove the card properly from your card reader, insert the card into the camera and close the bottom cover. - Press the “INFO” button and hold it, simultaneously turn on the camera using the main switch.
The update process takes several 2-4 minutes. “Loading file…” appears on the screen. - When the update is done, a corresponding message appears on the screen. The Message disappears after some seconds.
Note:
- When installing the new Firmware version, all user profiles will be deleted and need to be set again after the new firmware is installed. We recommend taking note of the specific settings before updating.
- If the battery does not have sufficient charge, you will see a corresponding warning message.
