Panasonic officially announced the Leica DG Vario-Summilux 10-25mm F1.7 ASPH M 4/3 lens. Recently, a lot of unverified information has been published about the lens, both from insiders and from various online stores.

The Leica DG Vario-Summilux 10-25mm F1.7 ASPH. is suitable not only for stills shooting but also for video recording, to satisfy both professional photographers and videographers. The full-range F1.7 ASPH. high-speed aperture provides beautiful bokeh and high descriptiveness and covering a focusing distance from wide-angle to standard zoom range.

This lens functions as multiple fixed-focal-length lenses, providing the same or higher level of descriptiveness than a fixed focal-length lens can offer. Panasonic claims that the lens has extremely high optical performance and is suitable not only for photography but also for video. The lens is equipped with three aspherical lenses and four ED lenses (with extremely low dispersion).
