The latest Bose QuietComfort true wireless earbuds reportedly offer particularly effective noise cancellation, uncompromising sound, and an extremely long battery life at a mid-range price, positioning Bose as a direct competitor to the new Apple AirPods 4.
The successors to the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II (approx. $179 / £249.95 on Amazon) are here. Bose has dropped the number and modernized the design, making the earbuds and charging case more compact. Bose still advertises a battery life of 8.5 hours, or 31.5 hours with the charging case.
The earbuds are IPX4-certified, offering protection against rain and sweat. Bose designed the QuietComfort Earbuds to deliver first-class sound, promoting them with bold statements like “sound without compromise” and “epic sound.”
The sound can be adjusted through an equalizer in the smartphone app. The app also lets you customize the touch-sensitive controls on the earphones.
You can activate both the active noise cancellation and transparency mode on the latest Bose QuietComfort Earbuds using voice commands. Bose 360-degree sound will be added through a software update. Bluetooth Multipoint allows simultaneous connection to two devices. The charging case supports both USB-C and Qi wireless charging.

The new Bose QuietComfort Earbuds, considered the best Bose noise cancelling earbuds, are now available for $179 on Amazon.com and £179.95 on Amazon.co.uk. You can choose from three stylish colors: White Smoke, Black, and Chilled Lilac.
Last week, Apple introduced the new AirPods 4, its latest true wireless earbuds. The two versions leverage artificial intelligence to enhance performance. Depending on the model, active noise reduction is available, and you can interact with the device using head movements.
Unsurprisingly, the manufacturer also emphasized the AI support. The built-in H2 chip filters out background noise during phone calls. The AirPods 4th are also available in another model variant, namely with active noise cancellation.
