Venus Optics has expanded its line of tilt-shift macro lenses for full-frame mirrorless cameras. The manufacturer has introduced the Laowa 55mm F2.8 Tilt-Shift 1X Macro and Laowa 100mm F2.8 Tilt-Shift 1X Macro, which can also work with medium-format cameras. The optics focus on subject photography, landscapes, macro, and architecture. The new products are available for Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon RF, L-mount, and Fujifilm GFX cameras.

Let’s start with the Laowa 55mm F2.8 Tilt-Shift 1X Macro lens. Its optical formula is based on 14 elements in 11 groups. The design provides a minimum focusing distance of 27 cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:1.
Venus Optics announced the second new macro lens, the Laowa 100mm F2.8 Tilt-Shift 1X Macro. Its optical design consists of 13 elements in 10 groups. The minimum focusing distance is 32 cm, and the maximum magnification ratio reaches 1:1 (the same as the first lens).
Both new Laowa Tilt-Shift macro lenses offer ±10° tilt and ±12mm shift when used with full-frame cameras. This range is reduced to ±10mm tilt and ±8mm shift when mounted on medium format cameras.
Both new Laowa macro lenses feature two rotation mechanisms: one that allows you to rotate the tilt function by 90° and one that will enable you to adjust the shift direction in 15° increments. The optics also feature an Arca-Swiss-compatible tripod base. The filter thread is 77 mm.

It is worth noting that the new lenses are not the most compact and lightweight, but this is expected, given their capabilities. The Laowa 55mm F/2.8 Tilt-Shift 1X Macro weighs 1345 grams, and the Laowa 100mm F/2.8 Tilt-Shift 1X Macro weighs slightly less—1215 grams.

Venus Optics recently released the Laowa Nanomorph 60mm T2.9 1.5x Macro 1:2 lens for anamorphic cinematography. Built for Super35 sensors, it blends macro capabilities with anamorphic compression, offering filmmakers unique tools to achieve visually compelling results. Its T2.9 aperture delivers a shallow depth of field and distinctive oval bokeh for dramatic shots.
