Venus Optics has announced the Laowa 100mm f2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO L-mount full-frame lens. Previously, the lens was released for Canon RF, Nikon Z, Canon EF, Nikon F, and Sony E mounts. And recently for the Pentax K mount as well.
This lens offers macro close-up capability up to 2: 1. The use of the apochromatic scheme made it possible to eliminate chromatic aberrations. Infinity focusing goes beyond the Laowa 100mm f2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO for macro photography: this lens is also marketed as a tool for product and portrait photography.
As a reminder, the Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO is the first Chinese camera manufacturer to win the 2020 TIPA World Awards for Best Macro Lens for DSLR Cameras.

The MFT lens has the same optical design as the previous model with fully manual control – 13 elements in 9 groups. The number of aperture blades has been reduced: in the new lens, there are 5 instead of 7 in the manual version. And it has been priced at $549.
